Video Editing

What does video editing mean to me?  Well I've never edited a video before so, I would assume that choosing scenes to use and make a congruent video would be editing.  Piecing together a collage of clips to make comprehensible video is editing.  Basically it's choosing what makes a person look the best and putting all of that together into one giant "the best of me" video.
